1. Who we are
Move Better Athlete (movebetterathlete.com, the “Site”) is a free service run by GrindSplit LLC (“GrindSplit”, “we”, “us”, “our”). Move Better Athlete is a GrindSplit project.

2. The most important thing: your data stays on your device
The Site has no accounts, no sign-up and no login. We don't ask for your name, email address, phone number, date of birth, location or payment details.
Your streak, session history and settings are saved only in your own browser, on your own device. They are never sent to us, and we can't see them. This is how the Site is built, not just a promise: the Site's security settings block it from sending data to any other server.
3. What is stored on your device
To make your streak, settings and offline use work, the Site stores the following in your browser's local storage and cache. Nothing in this section is sent to us.
- An anonymous device ID. A random code your browser creates the first time you visit. It is not linked to your name or any account, it is never placed in a link or sent anywhere, and it only lets the Site tell your own saved data apart on your device.
- Your history. For each day you use the Site: the date, which session it was, the uniform Jay wore, how long it took, how many exercises you finished or skipped, whether the day counted toward your streak, and (if you tap it) whether you felt Tight, Okay or Loose.
- Your settings and choices. Sound and vibration on or off, which equipment option you chose for each exercise, and small reminders such as whether you've seen the intro or the Add to Home Screen tip.
- An offline copy of the Site (called a service worker cache) so it works without a connection.
Your history and “How do you feel” answers are for your own motivation. They are not medical records and we never receive them.
Deleting it. Go to Settings, then Reset all data, or clear this site's data in your browser settings. Because this data lives only on your device, using a different phone or browser, or clearing your browser data, starts a new ID and a new streak. Some browsers (such as Safari) may also clear a website's saved data after a period of not visiting; adding the Site to your Home Screen helps prevent that.

5. Information we receive automatically
When you open the Site, your browser asks our hosting provider (currently Netlify) for the Site's files. Like almost every website, the provider's servers receive and log standard technical information, such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages or files requested, the date and time, and the page that referred you. This is needed to deliver the Site, keep it secure and fix problems.
We don't use this information to identify you, build a profile of you or show you ads. We can't connect it to the data stored on your device, because the device ID is never sent. The provider keeps these logs for its own limited period under its own policies.
6. Information you choose to send us
If you email support@grindsplit.ai, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it only to answer you, improve the Site and keep reasonable records. Please don't send sensitive health information. If you tell us about an injury or condition, we can't give medical advice, and we may delete it.
7. What we do not do
- We don't use cookies (including advertising or analytics cookies).
- We don't use analytics, advertising, tracking pixels, fingerprinting or social media plugins, and we load no third-party scripts, fonts or images.
- We don't ask for or use your precise location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone.
- We don't sell your personal information and we don't share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- We don't make automated decisions about you or build profiles.
8. How we use information
We use the limited information we receive only to: run, secure and troubleshoot the Site; respond to emails you send us; protect against abuse or misuse; and meet legal obligations. We don't use any information for advertising.
Legal bases (EEA, UK and similar laws). Where those laws apply: our hosting logs rely on our legitimate interest in running and securing a free website; replying to your email relies on our legitimate interest in answering you (or taking steps you asked for); and the local storage described above is strictly necessary to provide the streak, settings and offline features you asked for, so no consent banner is needed. We don't rely on consent for anything else because we don't do anything else.
9. Who we share information with
We don't sell personal information. We share the limited information described in this policy only with:
- Service providers that help us run the Site: our hosting provider (Netlify) and our email provider. They may only use the information to provide services to us.
- GrindSplit and other sites you choose to visit, but only when you tap a link (see the next section).
- Authorities and advisers where we reasonably believe disclosure is required by law, to protect rights, safety or security, or to our professional advisers.
- A successor, if GrindSplit is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. Because we hold almost no personal information, little would transfer.
10. Links to GrindSplit and other sites
The Site links to GrindSplit's website and app (grindsplit.ai, run by the same company), to research papers listed on the Learn page, and to your email app. When you tap a link, your browser leaves this Site and contacts that site directly.
GrindSplit links. These links include a campaign tag in the web address (for example, which button you tapped), and your browser tells grindsplit.ai the Site you came from (movebetterathlete.com). They never include your device ID, streak or history. Once you're on GrindSplit, its own privacy policy applies.
Other links. Third-party sites have their own policies, and we're not responsible for them.
Share button. When you tap Share, the Site hands a short message to your device's share menu or copies it to your clipboard. We don't see the message or where you send it.
11. Children and teens
The Site is designed for athletes aged 13 and older. It is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Because the Site doesn't collect personal information, a child using it doesn't give us any.
If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian before using the Site or emailing us. If you believe a child under 13 has sent us personal information (for example, by email), contact us at the address above and we'll delete it. A parent or guardian can delete everything the Site has stored on a device at any time using Settings, then Reset all data.
12. Your rights and choices
You are in control of the data on your device: you can see your streak and totals in the Site, and you can delete everything at any time (Settings, then Reset all data, or by clearing your browser's site data).
Because we don't hold data that identifies you, we usually can't look up information about you. For anything we do hold (for example, an email you sent us, or limited logs), you can contact us to ask about it. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask for access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of your personal information, to restrict or object to how it's used, and to complain to your local data protection authority.
If you live in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia or another US state with a privacy law: you may have rights to know, access, correct and delete your personal information, to opt out of its sale, sharing or use for targeted advertising, and not to be treated unfairly for using those rights. We don't sell or share personal information or use it for targeted advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of. You may use an authorized agent; we may need to verify the request.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. The Site doesn't track you, so these signals don't change anything. We respect them by default.

13. Where information is processed
Our hosting and email providers operate in the United States and other countries. If you use the Site from outside the United States, limited technical information (such as your IP address) may be processed in the United States or other countries whose data protection laws may differ from yours. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
14. Security
The Site is served only over HTTPS, loads no third-party code, and uses strict browser security settings that block it from contacting any other server. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security. Anyone who uses your device can see the data stored on it, so keep your device secure.
15. How long we keep information
- On your device: until you delete it or your browser clears it.
- Server logs: for the limited period set by our hosting provider.
- Emails to us: for as long as needed to answer you and keep reasonable records, and then we delete them.
16. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Site changes. We'll change the “Last updated” date above, and if a change is significant we'll tell you on the Site. If we ever add features that collect more information (such as accounts or analytics), we'll update this policy before they go live.
